Five Nabbed Over ATM Robbery In Katete

Police in Eastern Province have apprehended five criminals in connection with the robbery at Katete’s Zanaco automated teller machine (ATM) recently.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Grace Chipalila said yesterday that the suspects were the ATM caretakers.
Ms Chipalila said the five men were from Nyimba and Petauke Districts respectively.
The five had been on the run after staging a broad daylight robbery on the ATM and making away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The incident happened last month at the ATM situated at the Katete Post Office.
“These people were picked up from Nyimba and Petauke,” she said.
