A malicious rumour surfaced this morning that former National Secretary Muhabi Lungu had obtained an injunction preventing MMD president Dr Nevers Mumba from filing his nomination papers as the MMD presidential candidate for next month’s election. The rumour further alleged that the expulsions of Mr Lungu and his former deputy Mr Chembe Nyangu were also similarly restrained by the injunction.
The truth is that no injunction was granted and we are not in possession of any court order regarding the expulsion of the two former National Secretaries. Dr Mumba has already successfully filed in his nominations papers today.
These kinds of false stories are the work of desperate enemies of MMD. These people sent word last night to the MMD structures telling them to stay away from the nomination of Dr Mumba so as to cause confusion by claiming that the event was postponed.
They have not and will never succeed in stopping Dr Mumba and the MMD. We shall triumph over all our enemies and get into Plot One next month.
