West PF Decides To Support HH Says PF Is Now A Violent Party Under Lungu

The patriotic Front Western Province executive has resolved not to support Edgar Lungu in the January 20 presidential election.
PF Western Province chairperson Kenneth Namutolo, who is also member of the PF central committee, confirmed the decision, saying the party executive had faced intolerance from senior party leaders. “We had earlier endorsed Miles Sampa before even the convention and because of this, they have been chasing us,” Namutolo said.
He said some senior party members had personally threatened to deal with him once they are given senior government positions after the election because he had led the group that chose to endorse Sampa. Namutolo said Wynter Kabimba was right in saying the PF had lost its core principles and was now a violent party.
“It is a party of violence and intolerance and that is why we cannot support Edgar; it is for this reason that we have decided to support [UPND leader] Hakainde Hichilema,” said Namutolo.
Sixteen out of the 24 provincial executives in Western Province have chosen not to support Lungu in the coming election.
