Rupiah Banda says there is no need for politicians to criticise each other in an insulting manner. Speaking to journalists shortly after he paid a courtesy call on paramount chief Mpezeni at Laweni, Banda said Zambians should look at the future of the country.
“We don’t need to exchange bitter words. Peace is important; as you can see, we are here enjoying. So I am appealing to all my colleagues not to insult each other. Let’s focus on the future. God gave us a good country that receives adequate rains and we do our farming well, so we don’t need to hate each other,” he said.
Asked how he felt President Edgar Lungu was responding to criticism, Banda said the President was doing fine. “No, I think he is doing very well,” said Banda.
