The Patriotic Front as dismissed as trash reports circulating in the media over Republican President Edgar Lungu’s health. In a statement issued in Lusaka this afternoon, the PF has clarified that President Lungu has had no relationship with a named hospital in Lusaka;
FALSE MEDICAL REPORTS
During the heated campaigns of the last Presidential elections, UPND Vice President Dr. Canicius Banda held a press conference and published a falsified and fake Medical Report from CFB purportedly for Hon. Edgar Lungu.
He also claimed that he had a prescription and other records to prove his claims.
Both these documents were signed by a Dr. Gupta who has never worked for CFB but were clearly false and a total fabrication. Banda’s claims were widely published on a named online publication .
The intention was very clear. It was a scare tactic to frighten Zambians against voting for Edgar Lungu. This was done especially when Zambians had just mourned the death of President Michael Sata.
The tactic had a larger goal; to induce Zambians to vote for their candidate whose political fortunes remained uncertain.
This gimmick failed. And it will not succeed even now.
It should be stated that President Edgar Lungu has no medical relationship with Care for Business(CFB) now and or in the past.
It is therefore not surprising that such sick and fraudulent claims are being repeated through a fresh publication which has been altered slightly in an article by the said online publication but the dirty aims remain the same.
It is therefore imperative that UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema distances himself from these sick manoeuvres as he controls both Dr. Canisius Banda and the said publication.
It is also imperative that President Edgar Lungu term and legacy is judged by his policies and works.
But to induce hatred and disaffection against President Lungu based on lies, fabrications and fraudulent schemes is literally evil.
So a humble appeal to Hichilema to conduct cleaner and better politics is based on a genuine, nationalistic call and he must heed to it.
