Three PSL players have been named in Zambia’s 26-member 2015 Cosafa Cup team.
The trio is led by Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene who is expected to be the most senior player in the Zambia team at the tournament to be hosted by South Africa from May 17-30.
Others are Amazulu striker Bornwell Mwape who was recalled to the Zambia team for the first time in 18 months for the March 29 friendly against Rwanda that Chipolopolo won 2-0 in Lusaka.
Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Mukuka Mulenga completes the foreign-based line-up for the tournament.
Meanwhile, coach Honour Janza has also kept faith in 18 home-based players he featured against Rwanda who include 2012 Cosafa Cup winning captain Bronson Chama of Red Arrows.
Zambia are the defending champions of the Cosafa Cup and enjoy a preliminary round bye from this year’s competition.
The four-time winners will enter the fray at the quarterfinal stage where they await victor from Group A comprising of Namibia, The Seychelles, Mauritius and fellow joint-record champions Zimbabwe.
