Nyambe MulengaInjured Chipolopolo defender, Nyambe Mulenga says he is determined to get back to the pitch, but mainly for one reason;to help Zambia qualify to the world cup. Mulenga believes Zambia has enough talent that can take the country to its maiden appearance at tne world’s biggest football show piece.

“I want to get back to the pitch. We have won the Africa cup before and it would be good to win it again in 2017 but my greatest desire is to go to the world cup before I hung my boots” Mulenga told @fazfootball.com this morning.

And Mulenga says watching Zambia at the 2015 Afcon finals in Equatorial Guinea was a painful experience. “As a player who should have been there with the entire team, I felt very bad watching the matches from my sick bed.I really do not know why that accident happened but I thank God I survived” Mulenga added.

Meanwhile Mulenga says his wife, Precious has been a strong pillar of refuge during “these difficulty times”. The Zesco United defender says his speedy recovery is partly because of the good care the wife has been giving him.

In December last year, Nyambe and two other Chipolopolo players were involved in a road accident on their way to Lusaka where the team was camping for the 2015 Afcon finals preparations.

Satchmo Chakawa a goalkeeper for Green Eagles has since been discharged from hospital while Changwe Kalale the Under 17 midfilder is still under going treatment. Kalale was initially admitted to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka but has now been moved to Chingola where he is reported to be making steady recovery
