Zambia’s Catherine Phiri and her Irish opponent Christina Mcmahon go into the ring on Saturday evening for the World Boxing Council -WBC- bantamweight gold title bout.
The two boxers weighed-in in Lusaka on Friday.
Catherine stood at 53 point 5 kilograms, while Christina weighed 53 point 3 kilograms.
And Catherine has declared herself ready for the bout, saying boxing fans should brace themselves for a good fight.
She says she has prepared well and will not underrate her opponent.
hristina has equally declared her readiness for the bout.
Meanwhile, fight Commissioner Celestino Mindra, has assured that the highest professionalism will be exhibited in today’s bout, adding that there will be no favours for anyone.
Mindra, who is African Boxing Union-ABU- Secretary General also praised Zambia for the strides made in promoting the sport of boxing on the African continent.
Apart from the Catherine-Christina main bout, Charles Manyuchi will on the same night box Ibrahim Class of Tanzania in an international non-title bout, while Alfred Muwowo will fight Tintani Kamanga of Malawi.
Gibon Kamota faces Philimon Hara, Lolita Muzeya faces Eneless Kwati, with Mbiya Nkangu battling it out with Salim Chazama in international non-title bouts.
