THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded investigations into corruption allegations against former Minister of Information and Broadcasting

Services Chishimba Kambwili.
ACC public relations manager Timothy Moono said during a second quarter media briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the commission is now analysing the findings before the next course of action.
And Mr Moono says there was no abuse of authority of office in the Zambia-Malawi maize deal.
He also said investigations into alleged abuse of authority of office by former National Savings and Credit Bank managing director Cephus Chabu have been equally concluded.
Mr Moono said Mr Chabu’s case file is with the Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration.
“Investigations into alleged mismanagement of funds at the National Youth Development Council involving United Progressive People president Saviour Chishimba have been concluded and the commission is making clarification on some of the findings before the next course of action,” he said.
And Mr Moono said investigations into alleged corruption in the Zambia-Malawi maize deal have ended and it has been established that there was no abuse of authority of office in the manner the transaction was done.
“Investigations have not established abuse of office in the manner the transaction was conducted by the Zambian officials and the case has been closed,” he said.
Meanwhile, the ACC has taken interest in the alleged mismanagement of funds at Saturna Regna Pensions Fund.
Mr Moono said the commission has also instituted investigations into revelations by the Auditor General’s report on unaccounted-for funds at Solwezi Municipal Council.
He said the fight against corruption will only be achieved when Zambians embrace integrity in all aspects of their lives.
“It is the commission’s desire to see that every Zambian citizen owns the fight against corruption by embracing our national slogan, ‘A corruption-free Zambia begins with me’,” he said.
