Kabwe General Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was in the early hours of today gutted by fire.
The fire that started around midnight at the ICU was also seen extending to ward six (6) through the ceilng board, a situation that saw many patients and their bed-siders scamper in different directions in search for safety for their lives.
The fire fighters that rushed to the scene were seen putting off the fire using Kabwe General Hospital horse pipes instead of their usual fire tenders as they claimed not to have had enough water.
However, by press time, no deaths were recorded and the cause for the fire was not yet established.
