Bars and Tarvens in Some parts of Zambia Particularly in Lusaka, ran out of beer on Saturday 8th June, 2013 following Zambia’s victory over Lesotho in a match that placed Zambia on Top of Group D of the world cup qualifiers. Our staff that drove around Lusaka from Chawama , Matero and Mutendere revealed that most bars ran out of Mosi while others had also run out castle, leaving on Shake Shake along in stock and on high demand going at KR3.50 and sometimes KR4.00 which ussually sells for KR2.50
Speaking to one of the bar owners in Mutendere, Mr Brighton Mwandila, who said they were anticipating so much business regretted having made usual orders like on any other Saturday.
“If really I had known there was going to be so much business I would have ordered more beer to meet the demand, As you can see, I’m only remaining with Castle, Mosi is all gone and my friends who still have castle are selling at KR8.” he said.
Meanwhile our other report that checked on Avondale Complex found the situation normal. The place fully packed without any more parking spaces.
