Two MEN Get 9 Months Over K150 Bribe

The Mpika Subordinate Court has sentenced two men to nine months imprisonment with hard labour for corrupt activities involving K150.
Anti-Corruption Commission public relations manager, Timothy Moono, in a statement stated that magistrate Felix Kaoma found Ackson Yamba, 37, and Kunda Kasolo, 39, guilty of one count of corrupt practices with public officer, contrary to section 19(2) as read with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
“Details of the offence are that Ackson Yamba, on 16th February 2014, in Chiundaponde, Mpika, being a private person, jointly and whilst acting together with Kunda Kasolo corruptly offered and actually gave a sum of K150 cash gratification to Zambia Wildlife Authority officer, Chali Chali, as an inducement or reward for the latter to allow Yamba and his friend, Kasolo, to illegally hunt in the Bangweulu Game Management Area, a matter or transaction that concerned the Zambia Wildlife Authority, a public body,” stated Moono.
He stated that the two were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission on February 19, 2014.
