Midfielders Lubambo Musonda and Roderick Kabwe get CHAN qualifier call-ups following Mukuka Mulenga’s injury.
Zambia’s influential midfielder Mukuka will miss Zambia’s 2014 CHAN second round first leg qualifying tie away to Zimbabwe on August 11 at Rufaro Stadium in Harare due to an ankle injury.
Mukuka is expected to be out of action for at least three weeks after sustaining an injury in Zambia’s 2-0 win CHAN qualifier win over Botswana on August 3 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Zanaco midfielder Kabwe returns to the fold for the first time after sustaining an injury in camp on May 24 in Zambia’s buildup to their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Sudan in June.
Lubambo, who plays for Power Dynamos, also returns after a lengthy absence since Zambia’s December 5 two-one away loss to Saudi Arabia. The duo are two of three call-ups for Sunday’s clash together with midfielder Boyd Musonda from FAZ Division Two South club Young Zanaco.
Dropped from the team is Nchanga Rangers striker Nawa Nawa.
However, Nkana striker Evans Kangwa who was called up together with Nawa retains his place after impressing against Botswana when he scored Zambia’s second goal at Levy in his first competitive match in seven months.
Kangwa has not played competitively since Zambia’s December 21 one-nil away friendly defeat to Tanzania following his recent return from a six-month trial spell in Spain.
