Musician Pilato Pleads Not Guilty

Satirical musician Fumba Chama alias Pilato has pleaded not guilty to the charge of conduct likely to cause the breach of peace before a Lusaka Magistrate Court.

Chama is alleged to have conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace when he composed the controversial song “Alungu ana bwela”.

Chama 31, a resident of Ndola who has been charged contrary to Section 178 of the Penal Code entered a plea of not guilty before Magistrate Aridah Chulu when he appeared in court this morning.

And Magistrate Chulu has granted Chama a cash bail of K1,000 with two working sureties.

She has also set 24th June as the date for commencement of trial.

Chama has however been reminded in custody until the bail conditions are met.

He is being represented by lawyers Marshall Muchende, Keith Mweemba and Sunday Nkonde.
