Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic is one of the celebrities who is having sleepless nights over the spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

The actress took to her Twitter handle to share details about the Ebola containment Trust Fund which she has set up with trustees such as Dr. Alero Roberts, Christopher Kolade, Pastor Paul Adefarasin of the Hosue on the Rock church, Mr. Felix Ohiwerei and Mr. Gamaliel Onosode, advising Nigerians on the need to unite and fight the common enemy than engaging in bickering.

Her tweets: “Hey guys, we now have a legitimate Ebola Containment Trust Fund, a non-profit body created to galvanize necessary resources to contain Ebola.” “Let us get together and fight this problem and stop all the bickering.

This is for those who have been looking for a way to help out.” Also, the diva tweeted: “We have been searching for something like this for a while and I am happy that some concerned people actually created this.”

The objectives of the fund are to collaborate with governments and its agencies in their efforts to contain the virus, and harness the creativity and enterprise of the private sector to execute the emergency purchase and deployment of necessary supplies and personnel in the support of the containment endeavour.

It is also to engage citizens on media and social platforms aimed at educating and informing Lagos residents, visitors and private hospitals about Ebola. Dominic said the fund is currently working on its website and would make available a hotline for telephone enquiries.

Nigeria Losing Control Of Northeast To Boko Haram

A special report issued by the Nigeria Security Network of scholars earlier this week warned the country “is losing control of large parts of the north-east region,” and that, and for the first time in history, Boko Haram was seizing and holding territories across three northeastern states, outside of its known hideouts in the Sambisa and Mandara Mountains.

“If Boko Haram are able to continue seizing territory in Borno, including the state capital, it is likely that almost the entire state will soon fall under the insurgency’s control. This will be the realisation of Boko Haram’s ambition to establish a caliphate in north-east Nigeria,” said the report.

The report listed six territories believed to be seized by Boko Haram since July as well as six other communities in the northeast believed to be seized or heavily contested, including Banki, a town near Cameroon, which was seized on Wednesday by militants.

As the town of Bama was captured by the group, a government council in Gulani, a town in neighboring Yobe state, was taken over by Boko Haram on Wednesday, according to Sahara Reporters, where locals attested that the militants registered their arrival and assured a government ward that they were only there to preach and not harm anyone.

The report by the Nigeria Security Network suggested that the recent campaign for territory may be aimed at establishing a “Boko Haram state” in Borno, with the key goal to take the state capital, Maiduguri.

This marks a worrying new development in an insurgency which Boko Haram has waged for five years, progressing from political propaganda, preaching and rallies to bomb attacks, assassinations and kidnappings after its leader, Mohammed Yusuf, was killed while in police custody in 2009.

The crisis in the north has displaced more than 700,000 people both inside and outside the country, the United Nations refugee agency report, and a worsening humanitarian crisis in the northeast region, which shares porous borders with Niger, Chad and Cameroon, could have a serious impact on regional security.

It’s Sad That Scott Disrespected RB By Calling Him “Nyama Soya” -Kalima

Vice-President Guy Scott

MMD Kasenengwa candidate Victoria Kalima says it is sad that Vice-President Guy Scott on Wednesday disrespected Rupiah Banda by calling him “nyama soya”

Addressing a rally at Chipalamba sub-centre grounds on Thursday, Kalima said it was painful that Vice-President Scott could insult former president Banda who was not involved in the ongoing political campaigns.

Kalima said Banda deserved to be respected.

She said it was wrong for the Vice-President to drag Banda into any political battles as he was no longer involved in active politics.

She further accused the Vice-President of running out of real issues affecting the area, hence resorting to insulting the innocent former Head of State.

“It is sad that PF government with their usual insulting campaigns on Wednesday, Vice-President Guy Scott insulted former president Rupiah Banda. What pained me more yesterday (Wednesday) is that Vice-President insulted Rupiah, that he is nyama soya as if he is involved in these political campaigns. Instead of him addressing the crowd on development, he attacked Rupiah. Now, I have not come here to insult anyone but to ask for me to finish my two years for the term remaining to complete the developments,” Kalima said.

Kalima, who lay on the ground to lobby for votes, claimed that roads in the area were worked on and that boreholes were also drilled to provide safe drinking water in some parts of the constituency.

Kalima said it was also wrong for Vice-President Scott to intimidate people in the area by saying they were not going to see any development if they did not vote for PF candidate Gideon Zulu and that certificates for women clubs would be withdrawn by government.

“Let me thank you for your prayers to God that when there were plans to block us from standing, you prayed for me, and we are standing. There is K2.5 million in the CDF account waiting and when you vote for me, I will continue developing the area where I had left before the seat was nullified,” Kalima said.
And Kalima said Vice-President Scott instructed the closure of FRA depots in the area because the government had no money to pay farmers.

“It is sad that at this critical time when schools are opening, government has suspended the buying of maize from farmers. How are you going to send your children to schools? Can you say this government cares for you? Government has no money to pay farmers that’s why they have stopped buying maize from you,” said Kalima.

Lusaka Woman Narrates How A Pastor Tried To Rape Her

A 27-year-old woman yesterday narrated in court how a Lusaka pastor she had known since her high school days attempted to rape her at a prayer house in January this year.

Before Lusaka magistrate Albert Mwaba was Golden Malama, a pastor accused of attempted rape.

In her testimony, the woman said she had known Malama, who pastors at Father’s House Church in Lusaka’s Chunga area since their high school days at Lubwe Mission in Samfya and that he was one of their prefects at the school.

The woman said after school, she did not meet Malama for about 10 years but that on January 29, he followed her to Spar Chawama where she was working and informed her that he was now a pastor.

She said Malama asked her if he could meet her family and she agreed to the request and they planned that he would go to meet her husband and child the following day.

“They were the two of them and I was confident because he said he was a pastor. I told him I would knock off around 15:00 the following day and they could meet my family,” the woman narrated as Malama sat in the accused dock. “The next day, he came alone to pick me up [from work] and asked me to accompany him to Levy Mall. I agreed but I did not call my husband to tell him we were going there. After that, he asked me to go with him to Woodlands prayer house. I refused but he said it would only be for a short time, so I accepted. Again I did not call my husband.”

She further testified that when they got to the said house, there was a third person, a man only identified as Eustace, and Malama led her to the living room but she was shocked that they were only the three of them at the prayer house.

“We reached there around 16:00 to 17:00 and were there up to 18:00 to 19:00. He gave me food and as I was eating the food, I just noticed that Eustace had disappeared. He [Malama] locked the door, he moved closer and started caressing me all over my body, my breasts, my thighs. Then he forced me to the carpet, climbed on top of me and tried to remove my pant and touched my private parts,” the woman narrated. “I told him I was a married woman and that it was a crime. I told him he was a pastor and it was wrong. That’s how he left me and I demanded that he takes me back.”

Asked why she did not scream, the woman who only reported the matter on June 13 this year said she was just crying.

Trial continues.

‘My Wife Doesn’t Want Islam, I’m Divorcing’

While many marriages are falling apart due to infidelity, others are breaking down because of religion.
This was heard in the Matero Local Court in Lusaka in a case in which a man said the major reason for his marriage breaking down is his Christian wife’s refusal to convert to Islam.
But his wife said she had started reading the Muslim teachings but did not see the need to continue after he walked out on her in July this year.
In a case in which Wezi Bowa of Matero sued Osman Phiri, 37, also of Matero for marriage reconciliation, she told Justices Lewis Mumba and Petronella Kalyelye that one day when she got home from work, she found her husband had moved out.
Bowa who said the two got married in 2005 and have three children said she only found her clothes and their bed when she got home.
“I rang him to find out his whereabouts and he told me he was in Emmasdale after which he switched off his phone,” she said.
Bowa said when he went back home after a few days he told her he was tired of their marriage and left again.
She said Phiri returned with his relatives only to take her back to her family when she was four months pregnant.
Bowa told the court that after giving birth, she and Phiri reconciled because he had no job at the time, and they lived with her parents where she noticed he always came home late saying he had been fasting.
She said one day without eating or bathing, he left home and never returned.
Bowa said she was tired of Phiri’s behaviour and decided to look for a house where they could live together but when she was about to pay for it, he told her to hold on as he had found accommodation.
And in his statement, Phiri said whenever they had a disagreement in their home; Bowa would always threaten to divorce him.
Phiri said the major problem in their marriage is that he is Muslim while she is a Christian.
He told the court that before the two got married, he asked Bowa if she was going to manage their religious arrangement and she had agreed.
Phiri said he left home because she was threatening to harm him.
Fearing for his life, Phiri said he left and now lives with a friend in Northmead.
The Court reconciled the couple because there were no grounds to warrant separation.
Justice Kalyelye gave Phiri up to October 15 to find a house for his family.

Police in Kasama have arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly murdering his 22-year-old pregnant aunt and having sex with her corpse after she rebuked him for returning home drunk at an odd hour.
And six members of the same family died on the spot in a road traffic accident on the Kasama-Mbala road while four others are in a critical condition at Kasama General Hospital.
Northern Province commissioner of police Charity Katanga said yesterday that the juvenile allegedly stabbed Grace Musumali of Mulenga Hills in Kasama on the throat and stomach before having sex with her corpse.
Ms Katanga said all this allegedly happened while Ms Musumali’s one-year-old daughter watched.
She said Ms Musumali was three months pregnant.
Ms Katanga said the incident happened on Saturday between 20:00 hours and 03:00 hours whilst Ms Musumali’s husband, only identified as Mr Ndumba, had travelled to Ndola to watch the soccer match between Zambia and Mozambique.
“The juvenile had come home late and drunk and when she questioned him, he took a knife and stabbed her on the throat and stomach before raping her,” Ms Katanga said.
She said when questioned by police on why he murdered and raped his aunt, the boy responded that he decided to attack her because she allegedly denied him food for three days.
“The knife has been recovered and will be used as evidence before the courts of law,” Ms Katanga said.
She said police have detained the boy, who is related to Mr Ndumba.
Meanwhile, six members of the same family have died while four others are in a critical condition after the vehicle in which they were travelling, a Toyota Noah minibus, overturned.
Ms Katanga said the accident happened yesterday around 06:20 hours after a tyre burst while the family was travelling from Lusaka to Mbala to conclude funeral rites of their relative.
She said the accident happened at Shakabonga village about 30km from the Kasama-Mbala road.
“The family members were travelling from Lusaka to Mbala to conclude funeral rites of their relative who also died in a road accident,” Ms Katanga said.
She named the deceased as Moses Mayembe, 30, of Kanyama township in Lusaka, who was driving the vehicle, Foster Mayembe, 32, of Medium township in Mbala and Happy Mayembe, 27, of Lusaka West.
Others are Esther Mayembe, 39, Obed Mayembe, 60, and Melody Mayembe, 30, all of Lusaka West.
Ms Katanga identified those injured as Oline Namusokwe, 36, of Chawama township in Lusaka, the widow of the man whose funeral rites were to be concluded, Agnes Namwembe ,40, of Matero township, Juliet Mayembe of Mbala and Kate Mayembe, 30, of Kabwata township in Lusaka.
“All the injured are in a critical condition at Kasama General Hospital and the bodies are in the mortuary at the same hospital.
“The deceased whose funeral they were taking to the village died on Wednesday in a road traffic accident in Chongwe and was buried on Friday in Lusaka,” Ms Katanga said.

TB Joshua Speaks on Pope Francis: Please Pray for the Pope

Prophet T.B. Joshua gave another surprising revelation in his church service on Sunday 7th August 2014, specifically calling for prayers for Pope Francis of the Catholic Church, as well as prophesying an imminent hijacking of a plane by ‘militants’.

“There is a very big religious leader,” Joshua began, describing the said person as a ‘father’ figure, widely respected across different religions.

“I have been praying for him,” he continued, adding that he received an alarming ‘vision’ concerning him the prior day. They should pray for him,” Joshua proceeded.

“The clergyman I am talking about is the Pope,” he then clarified.

Continuing, Joshua prophetically warned of a plane being hijacked by ‘militant’ forces in a dramatic scene that would result in ‘breaking news’ worldwide.

“They will attempt to enter a plane,” the cleric declared. “You will hear ‘Breaking News’ of a hijacker inside the plane that carried the plane from its original direction to another direction.”

“We should pray so that it will not just end like that and we learn that there’s a crash,” he said, seemingly referring to the infamous Al Quaeda attack against America on September 11th 2001 where four commercial planes were hijacked by the terrorists.

“This is another big attempt they want to do,” Joshua warned, soliciting heightened security checks in airports worldwide to avert the impending disaster.

Last week, T.B. Joshua gave a widely reported prophecy concerning ‘approaching’ world events.

He said he had a vision of US President Barack Obama being rushed to hospital with a health challenge, a plane crash in the region around Russia and Ukraine and a political crisis in Nigeria sparked by the murder of a ‘bigshot’.

Joshua reminded those in church of the prophecy, adding that the killing of al-Shabab’s spiritual leader Ahmed Abdi Godane by US forces in an airstrike on Monday showed ‘God’ was involved.

Joshua had specifically called for prayer for Kenya related to a ‘militant’ plan in place to attack a presidential figure in Southern Africa.

What will you consider the s*xiest part of your body?
I will choose my leg as the s*xiest part of my body. People often tell me I have got s*xy legs.

Can you date any of your colleagues?
Yes and no. Yes, because you never can tell where you will find love, but presently I will say no , I can’t date any of my colleagues.

Why are you called Eja Nla?
I got the name Eja Nla from D Banj. I love D banj so much. I love his music and personality so I just decided to come up with something unique and produced a movie around that name. The name stuck ever since.

Have you ever been heartbroken?

Yes I have, and I don’t want to be heartbroken anymore. Heartbreak is not a good thing. When one is heartbroken it hurts and weighs you down. You feel like your life has been thrown into a puddle and the truth is that it’s the person that one loves that breaks one’s heart.

Can you quit acting for your relationship?
That is why I said earlier that I love a man who understands me for who I am and my man cannot tell me to quit acting because of our relationship.

King Voices Concerns At Reed Dance

Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini was in a confrontational mood on Saturday as the Reed Dance marked its 30th anniversary.

The king used the event to voice a number of concerns, including the veil of secrecy around the accident that killed nine maidens and their two guardians last year.

He also used the event to justify the construction of a R300 million cultural village currently under way for the maidens to improve the event and make it more modern and accessible to all.

Zwelithini also said he was misunderstood about his mammoth land claim.
The accident that the king was talking about occurred on the R66 near Nkwalini between Melmoth and Eshowe. The victims were travelling in a bus on their way back from uMkhosi woMhlanga when it overturned, injuring scores of girls and killing some.

“I urge the government authorities to apprise me of what actually happened that day.
“What I know is only what I read about in the newspapers. I’m not satisfied. I just feel the government and those families should come together so that they can find closure. It’s not my intention to open old scars, but I just feel there should be closure. I spent my own money last Christmas buying groceries for these families,” said the king.

The Department of Arts and Culture arranged 175 buses to transport the girls to the weekend’s event. Various municipalities also assisted and have been advised to carry out thorough inspections of all the buses. All drivers will have their Public Driver’s Permits verified ahead of the festival.

Touching on the controversial mooted R300m project, Zwelithini said: “Zulus also deserve better. I will pray for those who resist you, I will speak to God. What have we done here in Zululand not to deserve the best of what South Africa can offer?”
The cultural development is expected to cater for the annual reed dance and first fruits festivals.

It would involve upgrading the existing pavilion and paved walkways, as well as sleeping areas and ablution facilities for the estimated 30 000 Zulu maidens who attend the reed dance each year.

The development and infrastructure according to the government was not only for the king, but the Zulu nation as a whole.

With regard to the blanket land claim to regain the entire province of KZN, the monarch said: “They say I have claimed the land, I have not even started with the process because people do not listen.”

He is expected to finalise his claim by March through the Ingonyama Trust.
Meanwhile about 40 000 barebreasted maidens in their colourful regalia braved the scorching sun as they took turns in laying the reeds before the watchful eyes of the king and Premier Senzo Mchunu.  – IOL News

Musicain Robert Chunga popularly known as ‘Bobby East’ and his partner Ruth Inonge Mukanga yesterday pleaded not guilty to production of a sexual video with intent to corrupt people’s morals.

Wrapped in a chitenge while looking composed, Mukanga, a former Miss National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) and human resource student told Lusaka magistrate Mwaka Mikalile after the charge was read out to her that she was not guilty of the offence.

Chunga who was wearing a black jacket and maroon shirt and looked collected equally denied producing the video which about two months ago, hit circulation on social media, resulting in the arrest of the ‘couple’ by the police.

Chunga 25, of house number 1551 Zumbo Crescent in Chunga Township in Lusaka and Mukanga, 21 of house number 398 A off Kafue Road in Makeni Township are facing one count of making or producing obscene matters or things contrary to the law.

It is alleged that Chunga and Mukanga in the month of June 2013 in Lusaka, jointly and while acting together, made or produced cinematograph films on a cell phone tending to corrupt morals.

When the matter was called up for allocation before principal magistrate Aridah Chuulu yesterday, it was allocated to Ms Mikalile.

Ms Mikalile later read out the charge to Chunga and Mukanga but they both pleaded not guilty.

This was after the State had informed the court that the two were present before court but instructions were still awaited from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

However, after the two took plea Ms Mikalile informed them that their trial would not start until instructions were received from the DPP.

Ms Mikalile has set October 31, this year as a date for mention and to hear whether or not the DPP would have issued instructions.

7 Health Benefits Of Being Naked

$
0
0

The moment you enter home your fist thought is to get rid of your clothes and head to the shower.
The thought of being naked with no layers of clothing on, relieves you, especially in the summer.
Guess what? Stripping down to your birthday suit is actually helpful and full of health benefits. If being naked is a problem, then hop into minimalistic or loose clothing. Here’s why!

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 1: Loads you up with vitamin D

We always slather ourselves with sunscreen, fearing damage the sun will do to our skin. Sun can cause damage only if you stay under it for a long time, says Dr Satish Bhatia, Dermatologist, Mumbai. Soak yourself in the early morning rays for about 10-15 minutes. This session will help in boosting the production of vitamin D and will also help boost your mood.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 2: Gives a healthy skin

Our skin needs air to breathe. Covering yourself in tight clothing can weaken your skin, because your skin reabsorbs the toxins, which come out when you sweat, says Dr Satish. Being naked will help your skin to respire, by eliminating the toxins from your body.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 3: No ‘Red’ marks

Being free from your clothing will help you prevent those red pressure marks left by your too tight bra or panty elastic band. Also, shedding your clothes for a while will help improve blood circulation throughout the body.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 4: Healthy brain

According to a study – barefoot running helps to lower the risk of Alzheimer’s in adults. Barefoot walking or running helps in vital stimulation of our brain. Dr Sunesara, General Physician, Mumbai says, the stimulation, which is created in the sole of the foot encourages our brain to boost more neuron connections. Besides, it also helps to increase brain flexibility.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 5: Relaxes you

Nakedness is a sort of therapeutic massage for depression, low-self esteem and other mental problems. Lying naked helps to improve your blood flow, detoxifies your system, and thus provides you warmth and freedom.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 6: Lowers risk of infection

When clothes are soaked with sweat, they can be a breeding ground for bacteria, which can cause various infections. Nudity lowers your risk to these harmful fungi and bacteria and maintains personal hygiene.

Health Benefit of Being Naked # 7: Improves fertility

Wearing tight elastic underwear can restrict the blood flow to the penis and genital area. Tight underwear or low waist jeans directly press onto your penis, which further slowly kills nerve receptors in the surrounding area and lowers sperm count.

8 Nabbed Over ILLEGAL DStv Signal Access

A Scam has been unearthed in which some people are selling decoders that are providing illegal access to DSTV channels.
Police in Lusaka have since arrested eight people, among them a named former ZNBC employee, in connection with the vice.
Acting police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in Lusaka on Monday that following an operation conducted at the weekend, police also seized 42 decoders, among other electrical gadgets, which the accused manipulated using a certain software to access the DStv signal without using a smart card and paying subscription.
Ms Katongo identified the suspects as Margaret Zwelopili, 38, Gloria Mwamba,24, Lawrence Sinyangwe, 28, John Mwape, 24, Sililo Simushi, 29, Funny Zimba, 31, and John Manda, 36.
Ms Katongo said the eight who were currently in detention have been charged with possession and unlawful dealing in electronic communication apparatus capable of monitoring or intercepting the transmission of an electronic network or service.
She said the eight were further charged with unlawful access of a television signal or channel by using decoders and would appear in court soon.
MultiChoice Zambia general manager Simon Bota said he was happy that the police together with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Service were able to “crack” the syndicate.
Mr Bota said such illegal activities jeopardised the jobs MultiChoice had created and the television industry as a whole.
“I would also like to discourage those people who purchase these decoders because the only way you can access the DSTV channels is by paying monthly subscription through Multi Choice for the DSTV service but if you are receiving it free of charge then obviously there is a problem,” he said
He said the scourge had been going on for a while and that what had been unearthed was a tip of an ice berg, adding that the Multi Choice business had negatively been affected but could not immediately quantify the damage.
Intellectual Property specialist Kingsley Nkonde said the decoders in question operated with a SIM Card and that the culprits installed the gadget with software that allowed free access to all the DSTV channels.
