14 Year Old Commits Suicide For A Boy
A 14-YEAR-OLD girl of Mtendere compound in Kafue has committed suicide after her mother advised her to end a relationship with a Kafue Day Secondary pupil.
District council chairman Gibson Sinkala and the girl’s father, Stanley Ng’andu, confirmed the incident in separate interviews and named the girl as Carol Ng’andu, a grade nine pupil at African Vision of Hope School.
Ng’andu explained that Carol differed with her mother after she told her to end her love affair with a named grade nine pupil because she was too young to be involved in relationships and needed to concentrate on her education.
“Of late my wife, who is the mother of the deceased girl, has been telling our daughter to concentrate on her studies and stop her love affair with a certain boy of the same area. It’s like this did not please the girl and according to her friends, she was heard saying that it was too much of her mother telling her to stop going out with her boyfriend, whom she said she loved too much,” he said.
Invest Trust Workers Cry Foul Over Poor Salaries
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you because I am very disappointed with my employers at INVESTRUST BANK PLC. It is very sad that we as unionised staff are complaining about our conditions of service when we are the people who do all the dirty work for our bosses. We are the ones who are showered with all kinds of insults from our clients.
Investrust bank our very own indigenous bank is in an increament crisis, I am writting to you as a unionised staff and my heart bleeds our bank management have offered us a salary increament of 8% compared to what we are asking 30%. As unionised staff our salaries range from 2600-5000 gross pay no housing allowance and no other incentives nothing at all so if a member of staff is offered 8% meaning the lowest unionised gets 208 and the highest gets 400 increament what difference will that make we have families to look after to feed to send to school and rent to pay we work very hard but we are barely surviving our proposal of 30%will make a substantial difference. Our Management offered themselves a 10% increament we have some people in management getting as much as 90,000 so a 10% makes a huge difference.
They award themselves hefty loans as much as 2million house loans and yet not even a quater of us unionised staff own our own homes why because we don’t qualify, our union execitive looks like it has been bought and i feel they are not even fit to talk on our behalf because they are not telling us the truth Enough is enough we are the ones who do the work to make the bank what it is today but nothing to show for it . Please ba Tumfweko help us expose the hypocrites.
They do not think of us and our affairs. We have been putting on Black outfit for the past three weeks now because we are not happy with the 8% that they’re offering but it’s like all our pleas and cries have fallen on deaf ears. Awe twachula pafula.
Twanaka.

Constitution Cannot Be Enacted Before 2016 Election – Nevers
Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) President Dr. Nevers Mumba says he is very encouraged that both the American Government and the Patriotic Front Government have agreed with the MMD position on the Constitution-making process as stated during the Presidential Debate on 15th January 2015 at Mulungushi Conference Centre.
Dr. Mumba said that owing to the challenging imperatives related to costs, logistics and public sensitization in at least 150 constituencies, it is almost impossible to enact the current draft Constitution before the 2016 General Election because it contains amendments to the Bill of Rights which require a Referendum to be held first. The Bill of Rights can only be legally amended via a Referendum.
This is why the New Hope MMD holds the view that political parties that had promised to enact the new Constitution before the 2016 elections were either insincere or just ignorant of how Government functions. In a statement released on 21st January 2015 in which Dr. Mumba conceded electoral defeat, he said,
A referendum requires planning, logistics, funding and sensitization of the public in every district which is difficult to do in 18 months…. A more realistic, practical and result-oriented approach is the MMD position of immediately taking separate important bills to parliament in order to address the following issues before the 2016 elections:
1. 50% + 1 electoral system
2. Presidential running mate
3. Reduction of the powers of the President
4. Freedom of Information and improved press freedom
5. The NGO Act
6. Public Order Act
7. Dual Citizenship
8. Cabinet from outside Parliament
9. Decentralization
10. Preventing parliamentary defectors from contesting seats for the life of the parliament they are in.
Dr. Mumba said the position of the party is to hold the referendum after the 2016 Elections to allow for proper planning and mobilization of all necessary resources.
On the size of government, Dr. Mumba said that he is concerned that rather than reducing the size of government especially in light of the escalating budget deficit, the government has maintained two deputy ministers in some ministries and has announced plans to split at least three ministries which shall result in additional costly appointments.
As stated in the MMD Ten Point Masterplan unveiled on 5th January 2015, the MMD proposed to reduce cabinet to 17 full ministers and only 27 deputy and provincial ministers, with one Permanent Secretary per ministry, all aimed at reducing the high cost of personal emoluments.

Mutembo Nchito Enters Into Nolle Prosequi
The Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito has entered into a Nolle Prosequi in his own case in the on going legal show down over alleged criminal misconduct at the Lusaka Magistrates Court.
Nolle prosequi as a declaration can be made by a prosecutor in a criminal case either before or during trial, resulting in the prosecutor declining to further pursue the case against the defendant. Courts seldom challenge applications for nolle prosequi and the DPP of the Republic of Zambia has just entered one in his own favour.
But in this case, Nchito is the accused and he is the Chief Prosecutor setting what is arguably a legal precedent and the first of its kind in the Commonwealth legal system.
The declaration may be made because the charges cannot be proved due to evidence too weak to carry the burden of proof, because the evidence is fatally flawed in light of the claims brought.
Nchito faced at least 11 counts of criminal charges among them fraud and forgery and it will be interesting to note which direction this case will take in light of this development.

Yoruba Groups Rejoice With TB Joshua Over Award
The Alliance of Pan-Yoruba Groups (APAYO) have lauded the recent announcement declaring Pastor T.B. Joshua as the ‘Yoruba Man Of The Year’.
In a statement titled ‘The Goldfish Has No Hiding Place’ published in Nigeria’s Punch newspaper, the coalition of several Yoruba groups commended the positive impact Joshua’s ministry has had on Nigeria.
“Many across the land… have waited to see how they can applaud you for the lives you have changed, the glory you have brought and the pains you have lifted off the shoulders of millions of our people, all in a quiet and selfless manner, these past years,” the statement read.
The group added that Joshua’s philanthropic activities were a sign of how religion should act to impact society positively. “The drug addicts are rehabilitated, prostitutes are reformed and robbers are made to turn a new life. You give scholarships to millions of people, build schools, build hospitals, train people on non-violence, Christians and Muslims inclusive, and daily, you respond to the anguish, the cries and hues of the multitude. This is what religion is all about.”
According to APAYO, Joshua has “lifted up the image of Yoruba people and Nigeria, with positive and reverberating echoes of fondness and glory.” The group also noted the boost in tourism Joshua’s church has brought to Nigerian soil despite the generally negative connotations attached to Africa’s most populous nation.
“It is no surprise that no single institution receive as many foreign visitors to Nigeria as the sanctuary that you have built,” the statement read. “The visitors dare the narrative images of poverty, dirty and horrendous violence to visit Nigeria even against the advisory of their missions, thanks to the way you have turned a wasteland into a land of honour, at a hitherto unknown Ikotun-Egbe in Lagos.”
The group concluded by advising Joshua to not relent in his humanitarian resolve. “We are proud of you, this great Yoruba son from a little and poor community of Akokoland in Ondo State. As the Yoruba man of the decade, not in politics, nor science, nor in art but simply in the sculpture of humanity, in the talent of love and care for the essential needs of people.”
T.B. Joshua was named the ‘Yoruba man of the decade’ by Irohin Odua, the first pan-Yoruba news outlet. Additionally, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka was named ‘Yoruba man of the year’ and Chief Obafemi Awolowo was posthumously celebrated as the ‘Yoruba man of the century’.
Married Woman Stuck To Nigerian Man After Illicit S*x -
Social media leaks by people in the area witnessing the incident claim that the Zimbabwean woman customarily married to a cross border transport operator known as Malayitsha, decided to spend an evening of fun at her Nigerian lover’s place where the cheating partners failed to separate after the act. Witnesses claim that the couple battled to separate from each other until an ambulance was called in to take them to hospital for a surgical separation.
The witnesses claim that the couple was embarrassingly seen being brought down the stairs out of the apartment by medical personnel from the Johannesburg Emergency Services to near by Charles Maxeke Academic Hospital. At the time of this article this media house had not yet been able to establish if the process to separate the couple had been successful.
Stories around couples getting “stuck on each other are not a new phenomenon as it is a well known form of African juju used by couples to catch their cheating partners. Witnesses at the Yeoville incident claim that the woman may have been “locked” by his husband who is believed to be from Plumtree in Matabeleland South.
The African belief about partners getting stuck on each other after sex is linked to a juju called Lunyoka which is predominantly “manufactured” in the Hwange and Binga areas. The juju comes in various methods sometimes like sealing the opening of the woman’s sexual organ so that penetration fails or if done on a man completely stopping the man from gaining an er*ction until he is back home. Some weird lunyoka cases such as ants developing around a cheating partner’s organs after illicit s*x have been reported before.
The African myth believes that once a couple or a person is cast with Lunyoka only the person who cast it can reverse it. The reversal comes with the “infringed” partner being compensated with large amounts of money or a herd of cattle. At the time of the Yeoville couple “locking” each other the husband of the cheating woman was believed to be away in Zimbabwe and may only return to South Africa after a week.
Dr John Dean, a senior UK-based sexual physician, says that the clamping of a penis by a v*gina is a
phenomenon that doctors call “penis captivus” (captive penis).
“When the penis is in the v*gina it becomes increasingly engorged,” he says, giving his hypothesis of what causes the problem. “The muscles of the woman’s pelvic floor contract rhythmically at org*sm. While those muscles contract the penis becomes stuck and further engorged.
Dr Dean says that the medical solution to the problem is by forcing the v*ginal muscles to relax allowing the blood to flow in the penis and then the man can withdraw. However of the incidents so far reported of “penis captivus” in Zimbabwe medical or surgical solutions have failed to separate the couples until the “owner” of the “captivity” releases it usually after compensation or promise of compensation.
A traditional healer operating at Bulawayo’s Mkambo market claimed having the juju which he called “central locking”. The man claimed that the muti is administered into the suspected cheating partner through the suspecting partner’s organ.
According to the practitioner, the muti is created from a female dog’s sexual organ and administered on the suspecting partner’s organ who then transmits it to the suspected partner through sex. The suspecting partner is then given a padlock which the partner keeps with them all the time. The man claims that the padlock vibrates as soon as the other partner gets involved once locked the cheaters remain stuck on each other until the padlock is unlocked.
The doctor claims that the practitioners normally do not accept payment for the juju until it is used as most people come back after a while either claiming that its not working or after chickening out of the trap. As security to get their money which is normally a share of the compensation the nyanga retains the key to unlock the padlock. This then means that stuck partners can only be released only upon return to the practitioner which complicates matters more. In some cases some cheating partners have died before they are unlocked. It is still not clear at this stage what has come of the Yeoville couple.
2 Sold Girls Still In Suspected Slavery In Tanzania
NANCY SIAME, Lusaka
TWO out of the 11 girls who were allegedly sold by their parents to Tanzanian businessmen are still missing.
Immigrations director general Moola Milomo said in an interview yesterday his organisation and other stakeholders have failed to locate the only two remaining girls.
“We are still doing our level best to ensure that we bring them back home and reunite them with their families,” he said.
Mr Milomo said the search for the two girls will continue.
“We have information that one is in Morogoro while the other one is reported to be in Dar-es-Salaam and we are working with security personnel in that country to ensure that they both return safely,” Mr Milomo said.
He said the other nine girls have been reunited with their families and are enrolled at Tawela Primary School.
Mr Milomo said of the nine girls that were rescued, eight have returned to school while one has refused.
“It seems she was abused and she cannot cope with going back to school,” Mr Milomo said.
He said the girls were retrieved from Tanzania by immigration officers with the help of other security wings.
In July last year a child-trafficking syndicate was exposed in which Tanzanian businessmen allegedly bought 11 girls aged between 11 and 17 at K36,000 each from some parents in Nakonde.
Nakonde district commissioner James Singoyi said it is suspected that the children are being engaged in illegal sexual activities, although they were being taken to Tanzania under the pretext that they would work as housemaids.

Lodge Manager Gets 2 Years For Fraud
CHOMBA MUSIKA, Choma
THE Choma Magistrate’s Court has slapped a two-year jail sentence with hard labour on a 43-year-old manager of Mahogany Bush Lodges in Choma for falsifying a receipt.
In this case, Zepher Munyumbwe of Richland Lodge, is facing two counts of fraudulent false accounting and theft.
Munyumbwe on December 10 last year in Choma, falsified receipt number 0109 purporting to show that the lodge had received K230 for accommodation, when in fact not.
In the second count, it is alleged that on the same date, Munyumbwe, using a Richland Lodges receipt number 0109, stole K22,416 cash belonging to Richland Lodges.
Munyumbwe appeared before magistrate Mbololwa Mukela last Wednesday for written facts in respect of count one.
And facts are that on December 10 last year, Munyumbwe, who was a manager at Richland Lodges, attended to Choma Municipal who wanted to hold a briefing at the lodge over the recent presidential election.
Munyumbwe raised receipt number 0109 in the amount of K22,416 which was given to CMC but raised a receipt of K230 on the duplicate bearing the same receipt number 0109.
Richland Lodge management noticed the anomaly and reported the matter to Choma Central police, who instituted investigations that led to the arrest of Munyumbwe.
In mitigation, Munyumbwe asked the court to be lenient on him because he has eight children to look after.
Passing the sentence, Ms Mukela said Munyumbwe and other employees should learn to be honest when entrusted with leadership by their employers.
Trial commences on April 28 in respect of count two.
